  • Water Fast and Boxing

    I started a “detox” yesterday where the only thing I consumed was carrot and cucumber juice (which was more like a water since I blended the carrot and cucumber and strained the juice out). My stomach was burning yesterday but today I seem to be feeling less hungry but also a little less mentally focused. I’m doing my best to keep drinking water to ensure I am well hydrated.

    Last night, I went to use my sister’s gym and pool. I went with my twin sister and mother. I spent 10 minutes on the air bike, 20 minutes on the treadmill and completed 2 laps in the pool. According to my Zepp app, I have the body of a 50 year old. A few months ago it was down to 43 years old but clearly I need to work towards taking exercise and diet seriously. I didn’t even eat anything after exercising so I am breaking some health rules but I am relatively healthy so I guess I can afford to take the risk. I have a bit of a headache today but aside from that, I’m feeling okay.

    I woke up early this morning to watch Mike Tyson Vs. Jake Paul on Netflix. I expected Tyson to win but I guess it’s a good reminder that we all have “best before” dates. I was also watching Katie Taylor Vs. Amanda Serrano and Katie splitting Amanda’s upper eyelid really grossed me out. It went from being a deep cut to peeling off.

  • Wrapping Up

    I’m taking today to detox and will then fast until Tuesday morning. This will allow me to east into the fast better. I am having a cup of green tea and will probably drink a caffeine tablet (zero calories) instead of drinking coffee this morning.

    The right side of my neck has been hurting for the past 2-3 weeks now, I’ve massaged it with a massage gun and it’s helped temporarily. I have to find ways to strengthen my neck muscles.

    Yesterday we went to my sister’s place late and didn’t have time to exercise. I only had enough time to pick my mother up and go pick up my niece from school.

    I am hoping to be very productive today, I need to make leeway on the consultancy since I have literally a week left to wrap up the draft.

    Seychelles is getting ready for Christmas. It’s already the season! I already bought almost everyone’s gifts online except for my big brother, but I guess I still have time. The issue with buying something in Seychelles is that it’s less unique and more expensive. I don’t mind though but this year I really want to make savings, especially since I plan to use the money from the consultancy to go to the dentist… hopefully a good one this time!

  • Water Fasting for 4 Days

    I woke up a little late today and prepared my meals for the day. I bought these tiny containers (pack of 8) for SCR 55 at Veni and have decided that if the food I am going to eat for the day doesn’t fit in the containers, I am not consuming them. The containers are really small, probably around 7cm length and width. I am taking extreme measures, not just for Christmas but because when I look in the mirror nowadays, it’s frightening how “fat” I’ve become. I was around 63 kgs a few days ago and I have now gone down to 61.25kgs. My aim is to reach 56Kgs by Christmas. That’s a lot of weight in such a short time but I am desperate, and therefore going against everything I know about health and wellness. I expect I will catch the flu during this time period, because every time I start extreme dieting, I get sick. Extreme dieting is not recommended, this much I know, but oh well.

    My food today consists of mashed potatoes, lettuce with some pesto and coriander, jalapeño peppers, pickles, beetroot and some mixed nuts. I’ll work on macros later, I am pretty sure my body isn’t short of anything. I also have protein powder but I will get back to drinking protein when I start exercising more frequently.

    I’ve been discussing going on a water fast with my sister and she’s advised me to try a 4 day water fast from tomorrow. I read online that this is not healthy but I think it should be fine. I’ll get some glucose tablets ready just in case. This means I will not be exercising throughout. My aim is to exercise heavily today (going to my sister’s gym and pool in just a bit), so that my muscles can recuperate while I am on the water fast.

  • Ebony Are You Okay?

    For some reason I’ve had difficulty logging into “new post” and gave up far too quickly rather than write an entry.

    Lately, I’ve been focusing on wrapping up the consultancy work I am doing so that I can have a relatively “big” paycheck by the end of the month, in preparation for Christmas. Still, in my attempt to keep money in my bank account, I am being quite frugal when it comes to Christmas gifts, especially because I have quite a few people I am going to be giving gifts to. My mother on the other hand is adamant that nobody gives her anything other than an envelope with money- any amount will do she says.

    The cat that lives around my apartment complex has disappeared. She usually disappears for a while but this time, my sister already named her “Ebony” and has been feeding her regularly, so it’s odd that she hasn’t been seen around. She’s been here ever since we moved in here in 2020. Of course, one of the reasons why we haven’t caught her to bring her to the vet is because we don’t know whether she has an owner. We presume that her owners are the brothers that live in the house just outside the gate of our apartment complex.

    Effective today I am renewing my efforts towards weight loss. Had I remained consistent since March when I was really putting in the effort, I would have met my goal weight by now. It is too late for me to reach my goal weight before the end of this year so I want to lose at least 5kgs before the end of the year and then I can re-evaluate my efforts late December/ early January.

    This year, I wanted to put more effort in taking nicer photos, read more, watch more movies- this one I will be achieving the goal of watching 100 movies before the end of the year (I really caught up on September onwards). I didn’t do very well with goals. To add on to the “not doing so well”, this year I added vaping back into my life. Talk about going backwards! Proof that in life, it’s not over until it’s over… bad habits you thought you could get rid of can come back!

    Now, I want to work on a few rules so that I can work better towards losing weight…

    1. Do not drink calories (I am making an exception with the last few 3in1 Nescafe sachets I have, I drink only one a day and in the morning when I wake up).
    2. No chocolate
    3. No crackers (by crackers, I mean chips, crisps, cheese puffs and the like)
    4. No biscuits
    5. 30 minutes of exercise a day

    I think I can start with these.
